Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a third set.
He defended four initial chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
